My name is Miranda. I’m an actor, director, writer, producer and creative gratefully living and working on the unceded and ancestral territories of the Sḵwx̱wú7mesh (Squamish), Stó:lō and Səl̓ílwətaʔ/Selilwitulh (Tsleil-Waututh) and xʷməθkʷəy̓əm (Musqueam) First Nations.
I stand on the shoulders of female creators who paved the way for womxn to hold space at the head of the proverbial table.
As a director, my work is visceral, bold, fantastic realism. I strive to find the eccentric within the mundane - juxtaposition, suburban nostalgia, and thoughtfully curated storytelling are my jam. I’m endlessly curious - a forever student. My work as a multidisciplinary artist is inherently symbiotic - I think I’m a better director for being an actor, and a better actor for being a director.
What else. I’ve got big sister energy, blue collar roots, and a real inability to close just one eye (see left.)
I love to make beautiful things. Ugly things. Painful things, hard things. Hilarious things. Silly things. Things you hate at first, but come around to. And things that make you stop and wonder, because we don’t do enough of that anymore.
